NPCs
City Center
Community Center: Lily Wagner
An exhausted but friendly young woman, Lily seems dedicated - or at least resigned - to keeping the Community Center a spot of peace in a chaotic world. She's constantly wrangling visitors with an air of long-suffering patience.

Cause trouble and she'll threaten to sic the Sheriff on you. Or worse: her boyfriend.

She's eager to believe in magic and mysteries, particularly if it's a power that could be harnessed.
Library: Janet Davis
The head librarian can generally be found guiding visitors through her stacks. She's pleased to be asked questions about the town and seems to take research projects as a challenge.

Janet seems calm and pleasant to locals and outsiders alike, so long as they show respect for books and learning. She has a soft spot for children and will let them get away with more than any adult could.

While she's polite with those who believe in the supernatural, she declares herself a stalwart skeptic. If pressed, she's more interested in the anthropological and psychological implications of supposed sightings.
Café: Marshall Wagner
This retired hippie runs the Flying Saucer Café. He seems to treat the job as a hobby, with erratic hours and a relaxed attitude. He's always happy to chat.

Marshall seems kind and welcoming to all visitors, so long as they don't disrupt his café. He'll happily share stories of his wild youth and his 'live and let live' philosophy. He's especially talkative with other well-traveled individuals.

The local UFO enthusiast, he'll eagerly hear your stories, no matter how wild-- even if he'll admit to never seeing anything himself.
Xander's: Xander
Xander is a cardboard cutout of a man, blacked out thoroughly with sharpie. This is normal.
Cinema: Ricky Mallory
The popcorn boy is also the lamest senior in school. Ask about his crush on Lily and watch him turn beet-red.

Any tales of the supernatural will fail to hold his attention if they don't contain at least four explosions.
Dogwood: Johnny Halperin
Lily's asshole boyfriend, and your asshole bartender. Seems to spend every night eagerly waiting for a fight to break up.

He'll tell you not to waste his time with spooky bullshit. Unless you tell him Lily's into it - then he's all ears.
Suburbs
Hospital: Dr. Sam Levitt
A young doctor, very shy and a little anxious. Despite working in a hospital for humans, she seems to be everyone's go-to for minor vet calls and wildlife emergencies; she lights up around animals.

Sam claims to not believe, but also admits that stories of the supernatural freak her out.
Elementary School: Natalia Mallory
A quiet and grumpy eighth grader. To adults, she's standoffish and wary, especially of authority figures.

She's more willing to engage with kids, especially if they show interest in her hobbies: softball and guitar.
Community College: Max Frewer
Max teaches Econ 101 in a boring little office at his boring little school. He spends a lot of time in his locked and shuttered office.

Ask about weird happenings, and Max becomes eager to talk away from prying eyes. He'll take enthusiastic notes on anything you tell him.
Turnips: Ms. Spinner
Your cool weird aunt.
Cemetery: Sheriff Henry Lot
Judgmental vibes.
Outskirts
National Forest: Ranger Sebastian Ortega
A retired Air Force major turned park ranger. Ortega is diligent, serious, and protective of both the land and the people that visit him. His philosophy is simple: sometimes you have to be a bit of a hardass to keep idiots out of trouble.

Sebastian claims he could care less about ghosts when there are plenty of real dangers to worry about, like dumbasses getting lost in the woods.
Crater Lake: Father Elijah Shears
A reclusive old retired preacher.
Cartersville: Amy Chen
Amy is the daughter of the ski resort's actual owner, but she's been running the place for almost ten years. She's a businesswoman through and through.

She treats paranormal conspiracies as an interesting thing to spectate, and spends a weird amount of time around Max.
Radio: Vanya J. Tides
On the last night of every month, the unlicensed radio show Strange Tides hits the air. Its host, Vanya, runs her voice through a distorting filter. She picks apart recent local happenings and the conspiracy theories surrounding them.

Draw too much attention, and she might even have a theory about you.
