Wouldn't people just notice the pit, and see what's coming, and... you know? Kinda go "hey I know what this is" and take off? There's, like, a whole social pressure thing that keeps people from doing that when they walk into a room and see all the people who care about them there. So, no pit needed?

I don't know what it is, but I guess that's something to get to the bottom of too. I mean, if it's a corruption thing, that can get really bad...
I mean I guess? My dad had a tendency to just kind of space out and not notice them. Uncle Qrow did the same because he had been a little drunk. Me and Yang usually saw them and jumped right in.
